Beyond the Page - Finding You In Hollywood
Finding You in Hollywood
FY in Hollywood is where Caitlin Emore and Jaron Webber can be found - they went through the wringer for love.
I wrote
this book many years ago with so many titles - from Coming Home
to Hamilton Terrace. They just did not work for me. In the end, I finally settled
on Finding You in Hollywood. It had a great feel to how I wanted the
book to look and feel. This is my Notting Hill moment. And I love that
film.
If you haven’t watched the 1999 movie, it is the life of a simple bookshop owner changes when he meets the most famous film star in the world. It stars Hugh Grant and Julie Roberts. Set in the London’s Notting Hill.
I
wanted my story of Caitlin and Jaron set in one of my favourite streets in west
London. Westminster is a borough I used to work and live in the area.
I have such
fond memories of my time there. I drove down Hamilton Terrace NW8 more days and
nights than I care to remember. And I loved every single one of those journeys,
especially around December. It's a drive to see the houses light up with
Christmas lights, and that house was one of my favourites. At the end of the road
was a beautiful house with Christmas lights, and the highlight was the lone Christmas
tree, dead and centre in the window – all merry and bright.
A tree
to make a wish upon.
To this
day, I still drive down Hamilton Terrace in December just to see that Christmas tree.
Anyway, I
wanted a role reversal for Caitlin and Jaron. Away from all the distractions
and glitz of Hollywood to the quiet roads of St. Johns Wood.
What
happens when the world-famous A-Lister multi-talented superstar, Jaron Webber, meets an “ordinary” girl from London?
For
Jaron, it was love at first sight, but for Caitlin, finding Jaron was hard. She
fought her feelings for Jaron from the very beginning. Thinking that whatever they
had was short-term. So short-term that she lets her fears get the better of
her.
Not
giving Jaron a chance.
Or the
feelings she had for him.
For
Jaron, all he wants to do is shower her with all his love for her and show
her just how perfect they are together.
They both went through the fire.
Enjoy their journey. Read and see how they come from the other end - Pre-order NOW. Out in March 2023 at book retailers.
Music plays a large part in my life. It hugely influences the moods of the book. Take a listen on Spotify to the soundtrack to Finding You in Hollywood. Enjoy!
